POLICEMEN TAKE SIDES.
FIGHT IN MINING VILLAGE. MILITIAMEN RESTORE ORDER. HY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIOH 1 NEW YORK, Dec. 26. At South Pittsburg a coal and iron mining village in Tennessee, militiaman are keeping order to-day after six officers of the law were shot dead aiiu a score of others 'wounded in a pitcheo battle between the county and tiie city police. The clash resulted from a dispute in the -local factory, the county sheriff siding with the union workers, while the city marshal sided with the nonunion men. The State Governor w;*s compelled to order out the national guards to restore order.
