The Government will seek the authority of Parliament to purchase two modern destroyers, to be delivered within three years to replace the Patriot and the Patrician, which arc cousiciared to be obsolete- Arrangements have been completed with the Admiralty to secure the ’torbay and Toreador, which will be ieonnditioned at Portsmouth .and will arrive at Canada in March, .for use pend.ng the building of the new vessels, which would be commenced immediately.
