Time, J .27 1-5. HEAVY GOING AT WINGATUI. DUNEDIN, Dec. 17. The Oamaru Jockey Club’s summer meeting was opened at Wingatui today in thick driving rain, which made the going heavy. The weather cleared, however, during the afternoon. The totalizator handled £12,075 10s for the day, compared with £10,025 at the September meeting on a fine day on t,he Oarnaru course. Results are:

Taboo and Piton made most of the running, and the former led into the straight, hut in the run home Celerity II wore down the leader to win by a short, length, with Wingatui a length and a half away, followed by Rattlemenl.
