Anti-Chinese outbreaks throughout Korea are increasing and many attacks on Chinese villages are reported at Chemulpo. Three hundred Koreans battled for hours with an equal number of Chinese, killing' 20 Chinese and seriously wounding 100. The Chinese consul at Serioul called on the Governor-General, demanding protection for his people. The Japanese consul at Harbin has issued a warning to the million Koreans in Kirin province not to attempt organised opposition against Chinese oppression, leaving the matter to Japanese authorities who are taking the proper steps.
