MID-WEEK COMPETITION. MANAIA BEAT RIVALS. Rivals travelled to Manaia to keep their fixture with that club yesterday, and were beaten by .six wickets. The visitors made 46 and l 59 (Worrall 19, Campi 10 and Carter 16) being the most successful batsmen. Manaia scored 59 (H. Hughes 15 and Jones 13) and 50 for four wickets. H. Hughes bowled splendidly for Manaia, getting seven wickets for 19 and four for 21. Worrall and Carter were the best of the Rival howlers. The scores were:— RIVALS. Feildine won the toss, and hatted on an easv wicket, but owing tc the pouring rain the bowlers were unableto bold the ball. Barker bowled Wild with bis third ball. Play was stopped at 11 o’clock owing to rain, the total being 30 runs for one wicket.
