COLONEL LINDBERGH
LONG DISTANCE FLIGHT. WASHINGTON TO MEXICO CITY. TWENTY-SEVEN HOURS IN THE AIR. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. Received 1.55 p.m. to-day. MEXICO CITY. Dec. 14. Col one' Lindbergh arrived here at 2.39 this afternoon. Colonel Lindberg arrived at Vatbupno flying field after a non-stop flight from Washington lasting 27 hours 13 minutes. President- OaDais and Ambajsisador Morrow awaited him at the field, as did an enthusiastic crowd of about twenty thousand. The gathering would have been even larger, but Colonel Lind burgh was considerably overdue, and many had gone home discouraged and anxious, fearing a mishap. Word was received of the airman’s arrival at the field just as Mexican aeroplanes were preparing to commence a search for him. His reception was -so enthusiastic that accidents were narrowly averted. The de'ay was caused bv Lindberg losing directions after passing Tampico, resulting in a long detour.
