WHEAT CROPS DAMAGED.
HURRICANE IN VICTORIA. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 11. a.m. to-day. MELBOURNE, Dec. 15. A hurricane, accompanied by rain and hailstones of unusual size, caused extensive damage in the Lake Grace district Avheat belt. Some crops were totally destroyed. The storm was confined to a narrow area. Farmers in the Kondinin district also suffered. A message from Meridin estimates the loss to that district at over £30,000.
