HAWERA SWIMMING CLUB.

SEASON OPENING PAP NIVAL. OFF ICI ADS APPOINTED. Preparatory arrangements for the season opening carnival to be held under the auspices of the Hawera Amateur Swimming 'Club on Tuesday, were practically finished at a meeting or the committee held last evening. There were present: Mesdaines E. Higgs, C. Kelsen, Messrs. W. A.nSpragg (chairman), A. W. Lawn, Champion, D. Strachan, A. G. Walker, V. Warner, and Ralph Sage (secretary). The secretary reported that other oltibs of the province had been notified of the event and already a response had been received, the Opunake ‘Surf Club having advised that seven of its nembers would be in attendance.

The following were appointed ns ifficials for the carnival: Marshall, Mr. V. Warner: starter, Mr. P. P. Morrissey; judges, Messrs-G. Villars, D. Strachan and W. G. Strange; timekeepers, Messrs T. Day and H. A. ilrunette; call stewards, Mrs. E. Higgs, Messrs. F. 11. Champion and IT. .A. Higgs; ushers, Mesdaines Dymoml and ’. Kelson, Mr. C. Dowdle; ticket sellers, Messrs. A. W. Dawn and L. Hulbert; lcor-keeper, Mr. L. Bcaurepaire. The haiulicapper (Mr. A. W. Lawn) had been appointed previously. A reminder that entries close toil orrow (Thursday) was given by the ic-cretary.
