STATE GOVERNOR’S DISPUTE

A message from Oklahoma City states that Governor Johnston, who; is fighting an insurgent legis'-ature, which was determined to impeach him on the ground of irregularities in public finance, succeeded in preventing a session of lawmakers in the State’s capitol by dispersing them with National Guards. The Governor obtained an injunction to restrain the Lover House from receiving the impeachment proceedings, despite the courts and the troops, which tlie Governor called out. White bitterly denouncing the legislative insurgents lie said: “The danger to the constitutional authority is great, and its destruction is imminent.” Legislators describe, the Governor’s actions as “a .last desperate move of a mad tyrant.” TROOPS AND INJUNCTIONS FAIL. LEGISLATURE MEETS IN SECRET. IMPEACHMENT CHARGES, MADE. Received 10.40 a.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 13. A message from Oklahoma City says that troops and injunctions failed to protect. Governor Johnston from the insurgent Legislature, which met in secret session in the early hours of the morning. It preferred six charges of impeachment against the Governor, also of the State Supreme Court, and against President Condell, of the Agricultural Board. The Senate is making charges against Chief Justice Branson, secret plans to receive the charges from the House and to suspend the officials pending their trial. The Senate has already formally resolved itself into a court of impeachment.
