Cbmniutmm is supreme jn Clanton, following a Red labourers’ and peasants’ coup when 5000 seized the police stations, disarming the forcej and occupying the Government buildings. The ranks of the attackers were swelled by students ami others Clonimunishicially inclined. Many police were killed. Proclamations were issued calling on the people Do -support 'Communism and co-operate with Soviet Russia. Hundreds of prisoners were released from the prisons. At least 20 big fires were started. Fighting in the streets continued the day Long. Looting is universal, and a reign of terror prevails. According to the Reds there is now no government and uc> work.. Canton is just ia good Soviet Russia.
