ON LICENSED PREMISES.
FOUND AFTER HOURS. Consent to a. prohibition or dm- being issued against him was .given by a married man hawing to support a wife and six children after he had pleaded guilty in the Hawera Court yesterday to a charge of having been on the licensed premises of the Commercial Hotel'after hours on November 26. Sergeant Henry informed the Court that defendant had been found in the hotel at 9-30 p.m. by Constable MuLlan, gave particulars of the xnan’is family circumstances and suggested that as a fine would peanlise the .man’s wife and children, sentence should be deferred. The wife had made application for the issue of a prohibition order, and defendant was willing to consent to it. Mr H. L. Spratt, who appeared for defendant, aliso stressed the hardship which would be inflicted on the man s family by a fine. After entering a conviction, and ordering defendant to oome up for sentf called upon and making the prohibition order, the magistrate directed that the name be suppressed m connection with the prohibition order.
