CABLES IN WAR TIME.
PACIFIC BOARD’S ACHIEVEMENT BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 10.5-5 a.m. to-day. LONDON, Dec. 7. The Pacific Cable Board, referring to Signor Marconi’s recent statement, points out that the cruiser Numberg cut the cable at Fanning Island on September 7, 1914. Emergency communication was established on the 22nd of that month, and full working was resumed on October 30, which continued throughout the war.—A.P.A. and “Sun.”
