SENTENCES AT CHRISTCHURCH. (by telegraph—press association ) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec'. 1. Prisoners sentenced at the Supreme Court to-day were as under: Hastings Garfield Ireland and Alexander Thompson, for theft at- Methven, were ordered reformative treatment for three years. Ireland had tried to commit arson in order to cover up his crime. Joseph Leyell and Albert Edward Grandson, for theft of a motor cycle, were put on probation for three years.
