TOO EXPENSIVE
NIGHT EXPRESS 'TRAINS. (P.V T^jEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 30. Representations were recently made by members of- Parliament interested to the Railway Department on the subject of running night expresses from Wellington to Napier and to New Plymouth. The Alinister has replied that the additional traffic likely to be induced would not warrant the cost, which would be out of all proportion to the receipts. In addition to the train staffs extra men would be required at every station at higher rates of pay for night 'work, and sleepers would also have to be provided.
