CANADIAN WHEAT. OTTAWA, Nov. 24. The annual statement of the Canada wheel pool, a® published, state® that tlm jHKiI handled during the year 179,950.242 buishels, out of a total of 335,•iOO.UOO handled in the Canadian .westI’he grain was shipped to 24 countries, through sixty port®, Britain being the chief importer, with fifty million bushels.
Gross receipts from . grain safes amounted to 295,750.000 dollars, the total cost® deductable being 768.150,000 dollars, leaving 218,935,000 dollars net or distribution among pool members in Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. The report states that never ha® there been so much tough damp wheat, thus requiring the development of a new European market for this grade. WANGANUI STOCK SALE. Many buyers were present at Messrs. Freeman R. Jackson and Company’s Wanganui stock sale on Wednesday, and bidding was fairly brisk throughout. There were large vardings of sheep- and pigs, although the offering of cattle was not as large. Satisfactory juice® wore secured on the day’s hi 1ding. Quota tion® are : Hoggets, 28s 6d ; wether hoggets, 22® LOd; fat ewes, 225; fat and forward ewes, 20s; two and four-tooth wethers, 22® Gd; store ewes, 16® Id. ADDINGTON QUOTATIONS. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 23. To-day’s Addington market drew smaller entries in the cattle and sheep sections, and there was a hardening ol prices. Store Sheep.—The entry was small and a spirited sale resulted, there being an all-round advance of from 1® to 1® Gd a head. Fat Lambs.— A small entry and an advaneo in. prices of from Is to Is Gd. The bulk of the lambs sold at from 30s to 335. Fac. Sheep.—For shorn siieep values were better until the concluding stages by 2® a head, but the few woolly sheep forward sold at no more than last week’s rates. The demand eased over the concluding stages. The coav and heifer beef was also inclined to be easier. Extra choice ox sold at 37® per 1001 b; choice and prime, 29s to 31s; just killable, 27s to 295; prime young coav and heifer beef, 25s to 30s; just killable, 21s to 24®. Sheep.—An average yarding. Competition was steady, with little or no change in A'alues No extra heavy prime wethers were penned. (>Aving to the advent of summer shoAV week, the usual Burnside stock sale avus held to-day. The principal feature of the sale was the high prices realised for fat cattle. The market shoAved a. rise of about 15s per head above last week’s high rates. The quality was not equal to that of the last sale, the yarding consisting chiefly of prime and medium bullocks, Avitli a fair proportion of good, cows and heifers.
