SEEKING ADVENTURE.
CAPE TO CAIRO ASPIRANT. Having made an au venturous trip across the Continent of Australia from east to west and from south to north and back again, most women would have probably been content to nest on their laurels, but not so Mrs Gladys Sanford (says an Auckland writer). She says it lias only whetted her appetite, and now she is off on a much more adventurous jaunt, a Cape to Cairo journey by car.
All the preliminary arrangements have been made for putting out dumps of benzine, oil, food and tires along the route, Mrs Sandford is still without one important part of the outfit, a companion. She has an offer from an Australian girl, but says she would rather the adventure were shared by a New Zealander. On her journey in Australia Mrs Sandford was accompanied by Miss Christie, of Thames, but as Miss Christie has decided to settle down into married life, Mrs Sandford is looking round for another _to .share her adventures. The companion must be able to drive and needs a good knowledge of the mechanical parts of a car. “She would also need to know something about firearms,” Mrs Sandford said with a laugh, “because we will be in lion-infested country.”
