MANAIA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) CONFIRMATION. On Sunday evening the Bishop of Wellington, the Right Rev. Dr. Sprott, held a confirmation service at St. Outhbert’s Church, Manain, when thirty were confirmed, one of the members having com© from St. Mary’s, Huwera. The Bishop, taking the text for his address from Nehemiah 6, 11-12, dwelt upon the great strength of character possessed l>v Nehemiah, and urged all those about to he confirmed, and the other members of the congregation also, to endeavour to have the same firm trust and confidence in God that he had. Every seat in the church and vestry was filled, and many who were unable to obtain seats stood throughout the service. The Bishop on Monday evening held a confirmation service at St. John’s Church, Otakeho, when again every .seat in the church was taken, seats having to lie brought into the church from The vestry. At this service twenty were confirmed The total number should have been twentythree, but at the last moment three were prevented by sickness from attending the service. The Bishop left Manama on Wednesday morning for Eltham.
