PERSONAL ITEMS.
The funeral of the later Judge Alpers took place to-day and was very largely attended stated a Christ church message. The body had been b rought down from Wellington and rested in the Canterbury College Hall until 10 a.in., when the cortege proceeded to Waimairi Cemetery, where the lvev. H. S. Leac-h conducted the service. It was one of the longest funerals seen here for many years. Many wreaths came from the North Island.
