BOWLING. (From Our Own Correspondent.; The sporting section or the public took full advantage of the improved weather conditions on Saturday alters noon, and although tlie wind was gusty and at times rather boisterous tlie playing greens for tennis, croquet and bowling presented a busy and animated scene. Tennis and croquet players spent a busy afternoon in trying conclusions with, each other in some very closely contested practice matches. A return bowling match between Town and Country players proved a great attraction at the bowling green, and ended in a good will for tlie country players. The following arc the players and scores, Town players being mentioned first: McGaliey, .Thomas, McKenna, Christensen 15 v. Findlay, Sown, T. She a ban, W. Paterson 38: Crawford, Finlaysoti, Glenny, Div,\et 16 v. Gibbs. Moore, Edwards. Bourke 24; Power, Beamish, White, Morse 16 v. C. Carey, Turner, Phillips, P. Palmer 36; Green, Boyle, J. Patterson, Delargey 16 v. Mercer, Williams, H. Palmer, C. Sheahan 29. The third and deciding game for Town and Country players will be played on Wednesday, November 23. Bowlers are requested to turn up in force to this game, as ail opportunity will he made during the afternoon to hid farewell to Mr. E. C. AVood, an enthusiastic member of the club, who for many years served as secretary. Mr. Wood will he greatly missed on the green as one of the club’s leading players and for bis sociable and jovial manner. He leaves later in the week to take no new duties as bead of the grading staff in the dairy produce cool stores in Auckland.
