The season for judging of calves • reared by school children under the segis of the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs was opened with the district round ot Oaidiff, Stratford and Midhirst yesterday. Much good work, the result of care and attention, was seen by the judges, Messrs W. P. Jenkins (Eltham) on condition and H. F. Wren, (lokaora) on type, when, under the direction of Mi Rod Syme (agricultural instructor), they visited the three schools mentionCd At Cardiff there were eight calves paraded, and competition was very keen. First and second for condition and chart were reversed for dairy tj y°.
