MINERS’ DEMONSTRATION. ,
MEETING IN HYDE PARK
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON Nov. 20. The miners’ march ended in a downpour of rain in Trafalgar Square, whither they tramped. Atter lunch thev went to Hyde Park with lighted .safety lamps and dripping banners, headed bv 160 London ex-service men, followed by pipers, fifes and drums. Thousands of spectators cheered thein enroute. Ten thousand assembled in Trafalgar Square and the “Bed T lag and “The Internationale” were sung. Mr. Maxton and Mr. Cook spoke. The latter declared that the tramp would re-echo in Berlin, Prussia, and New York, drawing attention to the .poverty of miners and the callousness of Baldwin ism. He then called, non shout after me: “Baldwin, you must crowd voiciferously responded and carried a. motion calling on the Government to receive a deputation and hear suggestions for the amelioration of the situation of sixty thousand unemployed miners.
