FLOWER SHOW

POSE AND SWEET PEA'S. HA; W ERA METHODIST CHURCH. A comprehensive list of classes is included in tiie schedule for the Hawera Methodist annual rose and sweet pea show, to bo held on November 30 and December 1, in the Winter Show Buildings. The date for closing of entries will be November 29. Entries may be left with the honorary secretary, Miss D. E. Bates, or business manager Mr W. Crompton, or Messrs E. Dixon and Co., or Miss W. Hill. Included in tho list -of trophies are a fine lot of cups, comprising the Swadling Rose Bowls for bes.t twelve roses and for local competitors in roses; the Miss Bates’ Marqueterie Cup for irises; ancl silver cups from Mr W. G. Manley (cut blooms), and Bennett and Sutton (sweet peas); rose bowl by Blair and Sellar (points in roses). There are also a large number of other specials. The committee is working hard to make the show this year an outstanding success. Sections have been arranged for all flowers in season, also ! decorated tables and mantelpieces. A cup hhs been presented by Mrs Pacey as points prize in the pansy section, to be won two years in succession or three years at intervals. The section has also been extended to include one, two, three, and six blooms. A bazaar and sale of work will be held in conjunction with the show, at which there will be stalls of all kinds, competitions and entertainments.
