TENNIS BALL. The opening of the season ball, held by the local Tennis Chib, took place' on Friday evening last, and proved a most successful and enjoyable function. The' sum of about £lB was taken- at the door, and after paying expenses it is expected there will be a -substantial balance towards the club’s funds. The hall was prettily decorated with blue and white streamers, greenery and flower,s, and the decorations of the supper tables were also very effective. Excellent music whs provided by Boulton’s professional orchestra, and the supper was right up to the usual excellence of Riverlea ball suppers and reflected great credit on the ladies of the committee. The duties of M-C. were carried out by Mr E. Gibbons, who. in his usual capable manner, kept things going with a swing to the finish.
