MOTOR TAXATION.
IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SOME INTERESTING FIGURESIn view of the motor tax legislation now before Parliament it is interesting to note the position ail New South Wales. The “Sydney Morning Herald” recently pointed out that the New South Wales motor vehicle, registrations at the beginning of thk year were actually 153,085, made up oi 104,675 oaavs. 22,,980 motor lorries, .amt 25,424 motor eyees. Based on the average monthly iucrea.sos ior the first six months oi the- year, which include the winter period, when trade is always restricted as compared- with the spring and !2&rly summer of the .second lialvyear it is estimated by the National Roads and Motorists’ Association that there will be 183,232 motor vehicles, of which 127,276 will be cars, 28,308 motor lorries, and 27.648 motor eyees, registered. the total increase being 30.147. lorries and 2224 motor cycles.
