SHOWNIGHT SPORTS
POSTPONED TILL TO-MORROW NIGHT. On account of unfavourable weather, the committee of the local athletic club met this morning and decided to postpone the sports meeting fixed for this evening until to-morrow night. Appreciation was expressed at the action of the Wellington competitors, who have agreed to stay over in Hawera and will be competitors in tomorrow night’s events.’ They had an engagement at Wanganui for to-mor-row, but agreed to stay on at Hawera. In addition to the Wellington men there will be competitors from other centres, as well as local athletes, so an attractive meeting should eventuate.
