THE SEASON’S OUTPUT., A GENERAL iLL-ROUND INCREASE. Further inquiry shows that a decided increase is reported in the output of the dairy factories for the period to date as compared with the same period' of last year. The butter-fat figures for Normanby factory for October show an increase of 6.33 per cent on last year and milk of 3.67 per cent, while for the season to end of October the increases are butter-fat 12.05 per cent and milk 8.13 per cent. Manutahi shows an increase in total fat each of the three months, the figures being for 1927 (last year’s in parentheses): August, 21,466 (19,053); September, 42,054 (37,820): October, 54,910 (51,440); total, 118,4301 b (108,3131 b). For the same period Kalcarameai shows an even greater increase, the figures being:' August. 22,723 (19,937); September, 52,356 (37.431); October, 69,731 (56,390); total, 144,8101 b (113,3581 b).
At Whenuakura an increase is also recorded: July to October, 1927, 211,1451 b; 1926, 177,5461 b, an increase of 33,5991 b.
With the largely increased price secured by all factories, the value to the district and the Dominion may he gauged.
