MOTOR ACCIDENT.

ON MOUNTAIN ROAD. GAR BADLY BURNT. A motorist travelling from North on Monday down the Mountain Road, between the Boylan" Road corner and lvetemame, on the south side Qif the big Tawhiti Hill, noticed a seven-seater oar, which looked to be a Hudson, over the bank and badly burnt and damaged. A “Hawera Star” oar driver on that route also reports having seen the car and stopped to examine it. He said the number was 47-157. It had apparently been travelling North and run off over the bank on its left, going about twenty feet down and running into' the fence which pulled it up. The black pant was badly damaged by fire, and the tyres were burnt off as well as the back seats. The tank had practically gone and tools were scattered around. He considered the fire must have started at the back because the front tyres were not badly damaged. The car was upright on its wheels, with the radiator against the fence.

So far there is no clue as to its owner nor as to the cause of the accident, but the inquiries are being continued. •
