WAIKATO MEETING. RESULTS OF YESTERDAY’S RACES (B V TELEGRAPH"PWiSS ASSOCIATION.) HAMILTON, Oct. 21. The 'Waikato Racing Club’s spring meeting opened to-day in fine but dull weather. The track was in splendid order and there was a good attendance. The totalisator handled £21,148, as compared with £29,835 last year. FINAL GALLOPS FOR WAVERLEY (By “Limited.”) There was it strong wind blowing out at tne course this morning, when some interesting winding up gallops were witnessed. A number of owners were present and quite a .sprinkling of spectators. The plough gallop Avas used and was in first-class condition. J. Fryer commenced operations by sending Wbisogno and Oroades a ismaat live furlongs. Oroades just beat Whisogne in 1.4 3-5. Bright Glow Avias restricted to threequarter pace Avon'k. War Flame finished Avell ahead of Gasiiapper over in'e furlongs, tlic journey taking 1.6 4-5. The trial over seven furlongs betAveen the cup horses, Lady .Desmond, Pla.u tonu and Euphonium avivs a good ©fieri. Lady Desmond got a slight advantage at the start, which she held to fclio halfmile, ruu down in 59 3-5, with Patton u close alongside, Euphonium some distance 'behind. Lady Desmond and Paitoiiu came on together Avith very- little between them at the finish. Euphonium made up a good deal of ground over the last two. furlongs. Time, 1.32 2-5. Royal Acre easily heat Silent over furlongs in 1.6. Helen, Barrya nda and The Lamb, finished in that order over live furlongs in J. 5. The Lamb getting the worst of the start.
Reremoana, Lady Cavendish and Partaga. Avere companions over five furlongs in Avhat proved to be the best gallop of the morning. Partaga got the Avor.st of the start and beat himself in endeavouring to make up the break. Reremoana headed Lady Cavendish at the finish with Partaga. some lengths back. Time, 1.2 3-5. TDka comfortably- beat Airtight and Monsogne QA-er five furlongs, run in 1.6. Bomogne, looking in real good shape, nan hallf a mile by himself in 50sec.
Pi nil Rose Ava.s given a round of tin schooling hurdles, jumping safely.
Killoch and BLsox galloped over six urlongs. Killk>eh had the advantage it the start and 'led throughout, nulling tire six in 1.17 3-5.
Atone and Seven a did nice Avork over seven furlongs in 1.113-5.
GlengarifF has. rejoined M. Cbmvay’s slalble, looking well after his spell. Trainers aa’II.I he permitted to load at the platform as usual on Monday morning. Loading will commence at 7 o’clock.
