SCHOOL CONCERT.

RAWER A PUPILS’ EFFORT. An interesting and. enjoyable concert, arranged by the- teachers, was given by pupils of the Hawera Alain School this afternoon, when a large number of parents assembled. Principal attractions were selections played by the school flute band and orchestra under tho direction of Mr. H. C. A. Fox. Individual items and concerted numbers were of considerable merit, the youthful performers displaying much talent. A collection which was taken up in aid of the school funds realised a satisfactory sum.

The programme was contributed to as follows: Operatic selection, the band, recitation, Joan Thomas; dance. Vudrey McLaren; song, Doris Gilmore; recitation, Ken. Smith; unison song, junior ehoir; piano solo. May Cadman ; recitation. Mervyin Dyrnond ; selection, orchestra; part isonf, choir; violin solo, Ray Downey; recitation, Joan Moore; clarinet solo, David Rawson : song, Elsie Twad-J’e; recitation. Hermine Evans: dance,. Joan Thomas; part song, choir; recitation. Eila Gundeson; piano duet, Betty Millar and Joan Sellar; selection, orchestra.
