CHANNEL AGAIN CROSSED

Airs Gill, of Sheffield, left Cape Gris Xez at 9.11 o’clock yesterday morning to swim the Channel, landing 20 minutes after midnight at Kockspear Beach, her swimming time being lohr 9min. The swim was begun in rough water and an occasional mist. The breaststroke was used most of the wav, but the crawl was adopted when conditions were roughest. During the latter portion of the journev conditions were perfect. The temperature of the water off Dover was oldeg., the same as when Miss Gleitz swam.

Mrs Gill was fed on .beef and malt extract. On touching the shore she cried: “I cannot stand,” but she recovered when given a hot drink. The boatmen are ready to make an affidavit establishing the authority of the swim.
