The House, dealing further with the tariff, passed 156 items yesterday, and will resume to-day at item 354. Except for contentious matters the schedule is nearly through, and the committee stage is expected to be ended at this sitting. The Government hopes to solve outstanding tariff questions during the morning and to have the Customs Bill read a. third time before the week’s work is ended.
