BAYLY SCHOLARSHIP.
MEMORIAL SPORTS,
EXCELLENT COMPETITION.
There were nearly forty in the sports contest for the Alfred Baylv Memorial Scholarship, held yesterday at Now Plymouth. The winner was A. J. Thomason, of the Boys’ High School, with 170 points ,and D. Hammon was second. The value of the scholarship is £lO. D. Carter and L. Gibson, of Eltha.ni, wore the only competitors from South Taranaki. The winner scored first in punting, place-kicking, high jump, Avon his heat in 100 yards, and reached the standard in drop-kicking.
