Rumours wore circulated in tiiie city this morning that a .section of the uuemployed intended to rusii the Citizens Relief Committee’s depot and demand food, and if it were not forthcoming to take the depot stocks by force. _ As a result the police were hurried to Victoria Square, hut the proceedings passed oif quietly. A deputation appeared and merely made a request tor work under the City Council.
