GREAT INCREASE.

DIVORCES LN ENGLAND. DUE, TO' LACK OF PUBLICITY. ■ . * rtl.r • RKW IG' rt LONDON. Oct. 3. The “Daily Express” ,states that more than 500 divorces will be heard during the Michaelmas term and when the year closes 2400 divorce cases will have been decided in London alone, apart from more than 1000 heard by assize judges. This in an astonishing increase since 1911-15, when the average was 056 yearly, and 1916-20 when the average was 1510. Lawyers attribute the present year’s increase to the p-robition of newspaper reports. Divorce Court proceedings no longer hold out the terrors they formerly imposed. Persons are not deterred by fear of publicity.
