ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

BODY IDENTIFIED. (BY TEEEGRAPTI —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Sept, 29. The body of a man was seen floating in the harbour ba.sin alongside the warship Dunedin about two o clock this afternoon. On investigation being made it was found that the man was Frederick Stokes, aged 45, a labourer, who had been missing from a Dunedin boardinghouse for three weeks.

WOMAN SEVERELY INJURED. NAPIER, Sept. 29. One woman suffered from a fractured skull and is in a serious condition, and another woman and a man sustained lesser injuries as the result or a head-on collision between a motor ear and a tramcar in Hastings Street. Napier, at a late hour to-night, the names of the injured and detailed circumstances of the smash have not yet been ascertained. From the wreckage at the scene of the collision it would appear that the impact was severe.
