PROATNCIAL ACTIVITIES.
BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING
The year’s activities of the Taranaki branch of the- New Zealand Society of Accountants were reviewed at the annual meeting held a* New Plymouth last evening, when Air W. G. Walk-ley presided over a representative attendance. The annual report said that meetings had been held at Stratford, Hawera and New Plymouth. The attendance had been very satisfactory. While the committee had funds available (wants to’ students’ (societies, yet on giving the matter full consideration” it was found that the Hawera Society was the only body carrying out the objects of a students’ society. A grant of £6 10s had licen made to this societv. Representations had been made to the council to have a branch library established at Hatvera. and the council had made a "rant and tiiG necessary ljooks* bad been pm chased. When completed the library would he housed in the National Bank Cham.bers, Hawera. No remits were sent forward for tne annual meeting, hut the branch had placed on record the fa<"t that when any change in the secretary to the isocietv was made a full time officer should be appointed. Death bad removed one of the oldest members, AH. Eclwarcl FT. Tribe. The report- tv as adopted. The following committee- was elected for the ensuing vear: AY. G. AValklev. W. Parr. F. T. Davis. C. Freyberg. Y. Doff. .8. E. Nielson. During the evening Air. F. E. Clarke, of Hawera. delivered an interesting and instructive address on superannuation schemes and insurance.
At a subseouent meeting of the comATi'. AValklev was elected chairman.
