ATTACKED BY NATIVES
MOTOR IST\S PREDICAMENT. AN EPISODE IN ALGERIA. PARIS, iSept. 7. The predicament of a French dentist who aroused the fury of an Algerian mob is described in a message to the Matin from Bone. According to the newspaper, the dentist was driving'his ear when he knocked down .a deaf old native woman. He got out and picked her up, but a number of natives came on the scene and took up a threatening attitude which developed into their striking him with sticks. The dentist endured this onslaught uji to the .point at which one of the crowd pulled out a knife and aimed a blew, lie then drew a revolver, but a girl snatched the weapon and tired at him, the shot fortunately going wide oi the mark. (By this time another motorcar had arrived, and the newcom ers by- means of revolvers and fists flood "the dentist from the mob’s unwelcome attentions. On the arrival of gi ndarmes, who had been notified of the disturbance, a number of arrests were made.
