ELTHAM.
SCHOOL DANCE. There was a gratifying attendance at the Rawhitiroa School concert and dance last week-end, when an enjoyable programme of vocal items was rendered by the leading local, and Eltliam .singers, abv assisted by the well-known Fraser Road quartette. The hall and stage were tastefully decorated with ferns and native clematis by the school children, under direction of Miss Clarke. Air J. Cocker presided and the contributing artists were Alesdames J. O’Hagan (pianiste), R. L. Garden, Misses AI. Burrows, AI. Cocker, Alessrs S. E. Carson, F. E. Silver, J. AI. Burns and the Fraser Road quartette. At the conclusion of the concert the floor was ce.ared for dancing, o’id-time measures being honoured until midnight, after which the present day favourites were indulged in. Air C. V. Smith won the doll’s house which had attracted so much attention in Air R. L. Garden’s window, and he generously handed it ovep to the school children, who will oumyete for its possession.
