AYRSHIRE BREEDERS.
MEETING OF N.Z. COUNCIL. The council of the New Zealand Ayrshire Breeders’ Association met on Saturday, at Palmerston North, when Mr. F. Mills, of Hawera, presided. There were also present: Messrs C. B. Morgan (Woodville), G. Carter (Greytown), J. Aatcliison (Linton), T. Webb (Palmerston North), C. Webb (Levin), and 11. Webb (Koputaroa). The chairman stated that the Massey Agricultural College authorities desired the association to submit the names of breeders who were prepared to send animals for inspection with a view to having them placed on the college grounds. He suggested that the council should inspect the animals, and that the council ascertain what the college authorities meant to do. The secretary was instructed to arrange a date with the registrar of the Massey College for the inspection of the cattle.
The secretary of tlie ManawatuWest Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Society wrote stating that his schedule committee considered that the official list of the Ayrshire Association was sufficient guide for the selection of judges and that that procedure had been carried out. The council considered this unsatisfactory, and it was decided no advise the Manawatu Association that, while the breeders were not objecting to the men appointed, they disapproved of tlie association’s method of appointment.
