LEVEL CROSSING ACCIDENT. (.BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) GREY-MOUTH, Sept. 20. A crossing collision, occurred this afternoon at the town end of the railway bridge, where a bus with foui passengers driven and owned by H. McGlashati, was taken unawares by a (oal train from Rewanui, being struck on the side and carried 15 yards. Despite two wheels 011 the side coming off the bus remained upright and nobody was hurt, the escape being remarkable. Tlie crossing is a dangerous one, there being a traffic bridge alongside the railway bridge, and the driver ot the bus was creeping over the line in the* wake of a shunting train when the accident happened, while the driver of the train had only a short range of vision on the railway bridge.

A GUILD KILLED. DAItG A VIDLE, Sept.-21. A child named Jennie Simpson, aged 10, the only daughter of Mr David Simpson, a sharemilker of Ttuawai, was killed last night at lluawai. The girl was being given a lift in Smith and Stansfield’s motor delivery waggon, driven by B. Ilaekett, and fell off, when the wheels went over her chest, killing her almost instantly.
