There were remarkable scenes at the funeral of Isadora Duncan, the Aineri- ( i n dancer who was killed through being accidentally (.ragged from a motorcar. Thousands assembled at the 1 010 la Chaise cemetery, including wellknown persons in literary and artistic circles and in the Latin quarter. The most striking demonstration was the leng procession ot friends of the uancei, men and women, in long white robes and sandaled feet behind the bier which was drawn by four horses and covered with red, blue, white and yellow flow-
ers. . On reaching the 'crematorium there was a rush for admission and fighting in the doorways and the police were called up and 'closed the doors. Meanwhile the French poet M. Nivoire delivered a funeral oration inside. •Raymond Duncan, Isadora’s brother, long-haired and white-robed, mounted a rostrum and addressed thousands outside- the crematorium building.
