ALLEGED MURDER OF A CHILD. (by telegraph—press association.) WHANG AREI. Sept. 19. Paul Lendich, a Dalmatian, aged 45 vears, was charged in the Kaitaia Police Court on Saturday before Mr. Mclntosh. J.P.. with the wilful murder of an infant child, of which it is alleged he is the father, the mother being a Maori named Rosie Te Wham. a 19-year-old girl, who was living with accused. , The girl gave hirth to a male child in their whare on August 23. and the information is that, after giving it a drink, she laid the hahv on the^ bed. where it cried.
