The newspaper “Asalia Shimbun” reports that a tidal wave, driven by a tvplvoon, swept the head of Ariyako Bay, in the Island of Ivyushu, destroying three villages. It is estimated that over twelve hundred people are drowned or missing. To-day the highest tide of the year was experienced and this, with the typhoon and rain, caused all rivers to overflow', inundating five thousand houses.
