NEW INFANT SCHOOL.
MATTERS PROGRESSING WELL. The question of the npw rooms for the infant department of the Hawera School has been kept alive by the chairman of the committee, who has been, in conjunction with his fellowmembeis, in touch with the Minister, the member for the- district and the board. The recent visit to New Plymouth gave them the lastest ideas in building open-air -class rooms. The Minister has advised Mr Harding, through Mi* Dickie, that lij3 hoped finality would lie reached at an early date, and Air Dickie added that he saw no reason why’ when plans and -specifications were "ire-proved, a grant should not l>e made at once. Air Harding therefor,:* has requested the get its architect to prepare plans for live class rooms, -so that they can be submitted to the Alinister or Education when lie comes to- Hawera next Alonday ‘o open the Turuturu School. The matter is being pushed' ahead and the prospects look very promising. Word has been received that the Education Board, at a meeting in committee on Mo-nday. gave definite instructions that the architect pi-ep-n-ue plans and specifications for the infant class rooms, on the open-air principle, -and that they lx* made ready for the Mininspection next Alonday. The Minister will be in Hawera to o)i3ii> the Turuturu School on Alonday afternoon at 2.30 o’clock.
