The Riga correspondent of “The Times” says: “The Soviet announces -that the registered unemployed numbered 1,353.000 for last year Us compared with 948,000 in 1924. It admits that the possibilities of absorption are decreasing and that unemployment is at present increasing owing to the. reduction of State employees on the grounds of economy. The Don Goal Trust’s output during the past six months was expected to be forty-two million loads below the estimate, owing tc* a shortage of electricity, unsatisfactory credit and belated supply of equipment, also to the shortage of q ualiified workers. —‘ ‘Times. ”
