REORGANISATION SCHEME. THE HICfHER COMMANDS. CONTROL OF WAR MACHINES. dV CABLE — PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 11. A War Office memorandum declares that -recent developments in military science, particularly the continuous extension of mechanised transport, have necessitated the modification of the organisation which has substantially changed since 191)1. It has been decided to concent rate under a single member army council the study of technical prob.em.s, relating to military stores and vehicles, ensuring more scientific grouping and other duties. Consequently the Quairtermas-ter-Genenail ol Ordnance will be responsible for research and experiments with the design of track, semi-track and other vehicles, and the majority of stores, except the Army Service Corps vehicles. The Quartermaster-General takes over the fortifications works and the accommodation of troops. This also involves the creation of a fourth principal officer, a deputy-master of ordnance attached fo general headquarters in war-time.
