Du ring the past month the weather has been wet and cold, there being few davs when rain has not fallen. This consistent rain has brought about much mud around the various sheds and gateways, which makes it hard for the farmer to supply clean milk. Howe e l- , a dairy inspector, while speaking to the writer a few days ago, expressed his surprise at finding the milk generally in such a clean state. THE SCHOOL. The s.-liool commenced to-day after a break of two weeks. Owing to a great deal of sickness on the part of teachers and pupils, last term’s work was not as satisfactory as it might have been, but this term should be a good one. THE FACTORY. There has been a, considerable rise in the supply of milk during the past two weeks, many of the farmers having most of their cows in milk. The averare tost at the present time is much lower than that of last year.
