Dempsey yesterday fought eight hard rounds with his partners and suffered a cut and bleeding lip: His physical condition, after an examination by the State athletic commission's physician, was declared to. be excellent. His weight was 198'lbs. Dempsey declared he would probably enter the ring at. 1941b.5. T'unney, who, after a spirited clash with several sparring partners on Wednesday, had the old cut over his eye re-opened, declared that he. would do no ring work until to-morrow. Tunney expressed great confidence an his condition, while Flynn, Dempsey's manager, is quoted as having .said that he is not vet .satisfied that the ex champion's boxing at the present time is what it should be at this stage of his training. SQUIRES v. WILLIAMS. v SYDNEY, Sept. 11. At the Stadium a fierce and brilliantly fought 15 rounds between Johnny Squires and Sunny Jim Williams resulted in a draw. Both took a lot of punishment.
