SUMNER CLIFFS TRAGEDY. (by TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 9. Frank Shackleton, the old age pensioner found seriously injured at the foot of a. cliff at Sunnier, died in hospital to-dav. At an inquest to-day, the coroner found that Shackleton died from cerebral injuries received when he fell down the cliff, having evidently thrown himself over the cliff white suffering from .severe mental depression. Evidence was given that Shackleton was subject to fits of deep depression. He had been an inmate of the Christchurch depot of the Old Men’s Home recently, and bad left the home on September 1 without telling anyone, where, lie was going.
