GUIDE SONGS. How many Companies keep a record of the words and tunes of the Guide songs which come to t-heilr notice ? Each patrol should have the word.® pasted in the scrap book so that they are available for reference by recruits or when comparing songs with Guides from other Companies. There is always a chance of securing new songsfrom visiting Guides. There are plently of really good Guide songs, some serious and some comic No one wants to be highbrow, hut there is no use in wasting time with oversentimental rubbish. Ylie proper Guide songs are well worthy or attention. Some Companies are always on the look out for new songs, and so make a fine collection of them. You should write your songs in a book kept for that- purpose and the handwriting should be distinct so that it can be read when sitting round a real lire when you go to camp. The following girls in the 2nd Hawera Company have gained the Proficiency Radges named: —Gladys Lenclrum and Betty Pinson, Laundress, Domestic Service and Thrift; G.adjs Lentlruin and Mary Gulliver, Cook; Man- Gulliver and Margaret Lamb, Child Nurse; Eileen McKenzie Second Class.
